The introduction

The students, before the hackathon.

ACM UTSA is the university's Association for Computing Machinery chapter, there to give students the chance to “gain experience, network, socialize, learn, and grow outside of the classroom” — their words. Six groups run under it, among them ACM-W, Coding in Color, the ICPC programming team and RowdyHacks.

This is the introduction: the chapter in a room with Geekdom staff and the DEVSA community, days ahead of its own hackathon.

RowdyHacks XII runs 24 hours from 9am on Saturday, October 3, across UTSA Main Campus and San Pedro 1 — the day after this week ends, with registration closing the Friday night. It is still looking for volunteers, mentors and judges, and this is the last time that ask can be made to a room this size before the doors open.

The week ends Friday. Theirs starts Saturday morning.
