The hour
Nobody survives tech alone.
SATX Datanauts is San Antonio’s grassroots gang of data people — engineers, analysts, scientists and the plainly curious — across business intelligence, pipelines, machine learning and every buzzword in between. Their own reason for existing is one sentence: nobody gets into tech, or survives it, alone.
The mentorship programme is the part worth knowing. You are paired with a mentor, you build a real portfolio on a track you pick — analytics, data engineering, ML or AI — and you graduate by giving a live talk at The Drop, their monthly night. Rolling admissions. In their words: no fluff, just ships.
Free with Startup + Tech Week registration. Beginners and veterans both — their standing rule is no gatekeeping and no dense decks.
Every city has people who can build a pipeline. What is rarer is a group that treats teaching one as the point rather than the overflow, and rarer still one whose graduation is a talk — so the person who was mentored last year is the one at the front this year. That is a mechanism rather than a mission statement, and it is the whole argument for giving this hour to them.
Mentorship is our mission. Community is our power. Fun is non-negotiable.
