Founder & CEO · For Her
Kayla Carter is the Founder and CEO of For Her, a San Antonio–based organization advancing equity for women through health, wealth, and community. She founded the organization in 2013 and has led its growth for more than a decade, bringing professional expertise, lived conviction, and a deep commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for women to thrive. Guided by instinct and lived experience, Kayla built an organizational model that fills a critical gap in support for women—one that treats community-based care as the solution to gaps in the system. Her approach centers on helping women develop autonomy, competence, and connection to one another, rooted in her belief that everyone has the ability to thrive when given the right environment. Her community service includes representing District One on the Mayor's Commission on the Status of Women, serving as an alumna of Leadership San Antonio Class 47, and contributing to committees focused on women's rights, safety, and well-being. She was recently named a 2026 San Antonio Business Journal 40 Under 40 awardee, and her work has been featured in the San Antonio Express-News, San Antonio Report, and Echoes Magazine, an H.E. Butt Foundation publication.
