Maria Flores

Maria Flores founded Hess Street Foods in 2023 as a tribute to her grandparents, who once moved temporarily to San Antonio and lived in a home on Hess Street. She wanted to share the flavors and traditions she grew up with, celebrating her culture through food. Flores believes that when we share traditions and food memories, we create connections, build bridges, and become ONE FAMILIA. Flores’ story is a testament to how an American Dream that once seemed unattainable can become a reality generations later. Hess Street Foods won First Place at this year’s H-E-B Quest for Texas Best, competing with nearly 500 creative entrepreneurs from over 118 cities across the Lone Star State.
