From Factory Floor to SaaS: Building Software to Solve Your Own Problem

When
Tue, Sep 29 · 4 – 4:30 PM

After more than a decade building and operating a food manufacturing company, I kept running into the same challenge: most ERP and supply-chain software was either too expensive, too complicated, or simply not designed for small and growing manufacturers. So I decided to build my own. This session explores how a real operational problem led to the creation of SupplyProLog, an early-stage SaaS platform designed to help manufacturers manage orders, production, inventory, purchasing, lot tracking, and other critical workflows in one place. I’ll share the journey from identifying the problem on the factory floor to developing and launching a software product—without coming from a traditional software-development background. We’ll discuss validating an idea using your own business, building an MVP, learning from real-world use, and the challenges of turning an internal solution into a scalable technology company. The session is for founders, operators, and aspiring entrepreneurs who see problems in their industries and wonder, “Could I build the solution?”
